This series of image are taken from a diving expedition to the Red Sea. This series of images focusses on the lighting of underwater species, exposing their hidden colours and patterns. Due to the way water absorbs light, colours such as red, orange and yellow are absorbed first, therefor invisible to the human eye. To counter this issue, underwater photography requires the use of strobe lights, used to highlight the subject in question. This type of photography is particularly challenging, as the strobe have top be angled perfectly, so as to not illuminate the thousands of particles that stand between the photographer and a crystal clear shot.
